Aliya Moldagulova Memorial Museum — Official Website with Virtual Tour and Interactive Museum
Task

Client brief

Aliya Moldagulova was a sniper of the 54th Rifle Brigade, Hero of the Soviet Union, and a symbol of courage. The memorial museum, founded in 1980 by order of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR, has for decades served as the central hub of remembrance for the heroine in the Aktobe region. The package included: a bilingual website, the 'In Aliya's Name' section (biography, poetry, prose, songs and küi, theatrical productions, films, album-book), a virtual tour of the exhibition halls, an interactive museum on a separate subdomain, a collection block with 9 categories (photos, documents, books, maps, medals, coins, weapons, videos), a news section, and the museum's history from 1980. The website became more than just an information resource — it became a digital monument, open around the clock. For a region where schoolchildren come every year to learn about the heroine, this matters.
Outcome

What we shipped

Launched a bilingual website with the 'In Aliya's Name' section; implemented a virtual tour and interactive museum; built a collection block with 9 categories; configured SEO, accessibility mode for visually impaired users, and mobile responsiveness.
Solution

How we did it

The work began with our team spending a long time reading. About Aliya's life, about the 54th Brigade, about the final battle near the village of Monakovo. Without that immersion, it would have been impossible to build the right website. Over 40+ years, the museum has accumulated an enormous collection: documents, photographs, personal belongings, and works of art. Digitizing all of this was both a technical and an ethical challenge. One of the key sections — 'In Aliya's Name' — brings together everything created in her memory: poems, novels, küi, theatrical productions, films. This section could stand on its own as a cultural portal. We structured it to be both encyclopedic and alive — something you want to read and listen to, not just click through. The interactive museum became a standalone product within the larger project. This wasn't a virtual tour — it was a different concept of presentation, with deeper immersion and interactive elements. We developed it in parallel with the main website. We're especially proud of the collection block: medals, combat route maps, weapons, documents — each category required its own logic for presentation.
